October Blogging Challenge Day 31

I just had the revelation that before I marry someone, he has to promise me that he will be the one to take our kids trick or treating. Because I already refuse to participate. Just call me a Halloween Scrooge.

Here are some treats aka things that caught my eye on Pinterest while I was bored at work today.

This One Goes Out to the G-Mobile

October Blogging Challenge Day 30: New Car on My Half Birthday

Happy half birthday to me! The transmission on my car was shot so new car it is. However, I dedicate this post to the G-Mobile.

The G-Mobile came into my life when my grandma could no longer drive it. When she passed away, driving it daily was my constant reminder that my Gram was always here with me. My sister and I drove it all through high school and I took it to college with me for two years. So thanks, Gram, for giving me such a great car and watching over me while I drove it for so many years!

Here is my new baby. 2014 Black Ford Focus Hatchback. My first out of college, grown up, all on my own purchase.

Here’s to safe driving!! What should I name… him?

I Should Probably Work On My Car Knowledge

October Blogging Challenge Day 29: Day in the Life (these are boring)

Woke up. Went to work out. Car died. Waited for AAA in Anytime Fitness Parking Lot for 1 hour. Attractive trainer offered his assistance. Waited at the car hospital for 20 minutes. Got a ride to and from work (those trusty parents). Went to the grocery store. Ate a salad. Hung out with friends. Had some froyo.

I find out tomorrow what happened to my precious G-mobile, but it may be time to contemplate a new car situation. For now, she is in the ICU. No updates yet. I’ll just be over here fantasizing about driving a new car. MmmmmMMMm new car smell. Life.

How’s that for an exciting blog post?

All Time Favorites

October Blogging Challenge Day 28: All Time Favorite Beauty Products

Doing this blogging challenge has taught me that I can be a blogger. I love having my own little corner of the internet and although I would love people to read it, I don’t really care if they do or not. I post my blogs to Twitter but have not yet been brave enough to post them on Facebook. Feel free to help me out :). ALSO I would like to officially announce that I am now a part of Blogging For Books and will be doing book review blog posts for them. So that’s fun.

I strayed away from the suggested October Blogging Challenge posts for the past few days, but now I’m back on it. I wouldn’t consider myself a beauty guru by any means, but I do love makeup. I don’t wear it because I think I need to and I don’t even wear a lot (I don’t think).  I genuinely enjoy experimenting with it and putting it on in the morning. It’s a fun and semi-therapeutic way to prepare for the day. So this is my “all time beauty favorites.”

Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara – If I could only use one makeup item (besides chapstick, of course) for the rest of my life, it would be this stuff. It works miracles. I’ve used it on and off for about 4 years and it really does help your lashes grow.

da4d3639eb0871965432e6efc6c46e12OPI Lincoln Park After Dark – This is always my favorite nail color in the fall and winter. I can’t wait to break it out. I like it because it looks almost black, but it’s really a deep, dark purple. Don’t forget the gold sparkles, yo.

Cover Girl Powder – I first started wearing makeup in 9th grade because someone (who shall not be named) told me my face looked shiny. This is what I used to counteract that and I still repurchase and use it to this day.

61076WVera Wang Princess Perfume – Feel free to punch me after I say this, but I like to consider myself the hipster of this perfume. I got it for Christmas in 9th grade and am still obsessed with it after going through 4 bottles (in 8 years, dang). It became pretty popular after that. I definitely don’t take baths in it (aka spray it 806 times on myself) anymore (teen angst), but I like wearing it every couple days.

Revlon Color Burst Balm Stain – These are nice and minty. I hate actual lipstick so these are good for a safe splash of color. My favorite colors are Honey and Crush.

EOS-Holiday-Lip-Balm-Trio-Review-564EOS Lip Balm in Sweet Mint – Some people call them eggs, some people call them orbs, I just like to call it EOS. I have a thing for mint –chapsticks, gum, mint oreos– and this is by far my favorite mint flavored lip balm. Good story.

SB-00273-2TChi 44 Iron Guard – College taught me how to be lazy when it comes to my hair. However, when I used to straighten the crap out of it in high school, I discovered this savior. You brush it through you hair before using heat tools and it protects your strands from the heat damage.

Well, now you know all my secrets. I still love Taylor Swift.

October Blogging Challenge Day 27

I apologize if you are one of those T-Swift haters, because I am about to profess my undying love for the girl. I love her so much that I cut my hair like hers when she cut it short in the spring. Brought in a picture and everything. No shame. I attempt to rock the cat-eye look from time to time in honor of her. She can do no wrong and I don’t pay attention to celebrity gossip anyway.

Her albums come out every two years at the end of October. The past 3 albums, including this one, have come out at particularly difficult times in my life. Something about October, I guess. I suppose it is a bit cheesy to say these albums “got me through the rough times,” but something to fan-girl over and get me out of my own head is good to have.

So in honor of my BFF Taylor, I will reveal my all time favorite songs as well as my initial favs off the new album. All Too Well and Ours. I would pick more but it’s just too hard.

As for the new album, I’ve only been listening to it for a few hours now, but so far I love Welcome to New York, How to Get the Girl, and Clean.

P.S. Please excuse me while I go watch Isaac Mizrahi on QVC.

INFJ Personality

October Blogging Challenge Day 26

So I’ve recently become obsessed with reading Thought Catalog and Elite Daily Articles as a past time. What can I say, I like to read and know everything. I came across an article today on Thought Catalog called 16 Things to Know Before Dating an INFJ. I thought, “what the F is an INFJ?” So I read it, and then thought… “I think I’m an INFJ…..” I then Googled to find out what INFJ is and it turns out that it is one of the 16 Personalities. I don’t really know much about it, but I guess they have decided that there are 16 main personality types and have a quiz for you to take to see which personality is yours. (edit–Okay, I figured out that it is a part of Myers Briggs. Duh.) Naturally, I took the quiz and the result was….. (drumroll)…. INFJ.

The Thought Catalog article says, “Out of 16 different personality types, INFJs make the rarest combination of people to exist, which means they’re often misunderstood and dating them can be a challenging adventure. They have the greatest capacity for love and empathy within a relationship but their tendency to be extremely gullible and idealistic can create problems.” Interesting. I guess I am one of the rarest combination of people to exist. That’s kinda cool. Apparently if you want to date me, you should read that article. What a great self-discovery treat.

Here is the link if you want to see an explanation of my personality, lolz: INFJ Also, take the test for yourself! It’s easy and quick: 16 Personalities

One of the things that stuck out to me in the explanation was the need to retreat after being around a lot of people. I am an introvert by trade in that being around a lot of people physically drains me. Don’t get me wrong, I also consider myself an extrovert in that I LOVE people and have a passion for creating and maintaining strong, lasting relationships. But I need alone time. Badly. For example, for the past 2 months at work I’ve been planning a big event that happened today. It involved me having to interact with a lot of people for about 4-5 hours. It went really well and I was extremely happy with it, but when I got home, I was exhausted and would not speak to anyone. In fact, I will probably lone it up for the rest of the night. In my fuzzy wolf pants. Heaven.

Favorite Things About the Holidays

October Blogging Challenge Day 25: Favorite Things About the Holidays

Well, this is random. And I’m not sure if it means Halloween? Or all the holidays? I’ve already discussed my love for Christmas and hatred for Halloween, so I guess I’ll just elaborate a bit.

1. Christmas Music – It’s just so happy. It puts me in a good mood no matter what. When I was growing up I would count down the days until the radio would start playing non-stop Christmas music (about a week before Thanksgiving, I believe). I had a little portable radio/flashlight that I would carry around the house room to room with a coloring book. It just reminds me of simple and happy times.

2. Boots – I could never live in a super warm climate because I love boots and winter fashions way too much. I’m afraid to count how many pairs of boots I own, but from where I’m sitting in my room right now I can see 6 pairs. That’s probably only about a third. I also love scarves and coats with furry hoods.

3. Just Plain Having Fun – I feel like it’s a time where everyone has an excuse to get together. Friends (and sisters) come home from far away places and catch up. Family get-togethers. I mean, I guess this one is obvious.

4. Pumpkin and Gingerbread things. Yum.

5. Smells – Pine Trees and Cinnamon craft store smells. MMmMM.

In terms of Halloween, however, it sucks. For some reason I’ve never been a fan. I don’t care to dress up and especially don’t care for any spooky or scary things. SPEAKING OF– I heard today that the Hallmark Channel will be playing Christmas movies all day on Halloween. I guess I know what I’ll be doing that night.
